Session of the Economic Council of the University of Zagreb held at Podravka

On Wednesday, 9 July, at Podravka's headquarters in Koprivnica, a session of the Economic Council of the University of Zagreb was held, led by the president of this university body, Gordana Kovačević, MSc, President of the Management Board of Ericsson Nikola Tesla d.d. The meeting was attended by members of the University's Economic Council: Rector of the University of Zagreb, prof. Stjepan Lakušić, PhD, Hrvoje Patajac, MSc, (Adris Group d.d.), Jure Sertić (AKD, Agency for Commercial Activities), Vice Oršulić (HEP, Croatian Electric Power Company d.d.), Alan Herjavec, MSc, (HBOR, Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development), Irena Weber (HUP, Croatian Employers' Association), Damir Prusac (Infobip d.o.o.), Damir Kralj, PhD, (Ruđer Bošković Institute), Stjepan Roglić (Orbico d.o.o.) and Martina Dalić, PhD (Podravka d.d.).

The Work Plan of the Economic Council of the University of Zagreb for the academic year 2025/2026 has been adopted. A strategic framework was also adopted, which will make the University a center for the development of competencies, innovation and technology transfer in cooperation with leading Croatian companies in order to more strongly connect science and the economy, adapt education to market needs and encourage research and innovation. Accordingly, the modernization of study programs, the strengthening of international cooperation and the development of new financial instruments to support innovation are foreseen. Special emphasis was placed on removing administrative obstacles and promoting successful cooperation between the University of Zagreb and the economy.

On this occasion, the importance of the partnership between the University of Zagreb, the economy and the Government of the Republic of Croatia was emphasized with the aim of strengthening higher education and scientific research, which are key to the development of the country and society as a whole.
After the session, the participants had the opportunity to learn about Podravka’s recent achievements and visit the modernized facilities, logistics and distribution center, as well as Podravka’s integrated solar power plant, the largest rooftop power plant in Croatia.
