Quality integration of Croatia’s central healthcare system with hospitals

April 2, 2025

At the recently held 6th Congress of Healthcare Chambers Coordination (KoKoZ) and the 8th Croatian Congress on Medical Law, Darko Gvozdanović, Head of eHealth at ENT, participated in the panel discussion “eTreatment – Legal Framework, Ethical and Other Dilemmas.” Congress attendees were also informed about the Hospital Information System developed by ENT.

Responding to questions from moderator Domagoj Novokmet and numerous questions from the audience, Darko highlighted the already implemented features of IT solutions in Croatia’s healthcare sector that support eTreatment, especially within the central part of the CEZIH system. He emphasized the need for quality education and increased usage of existing solutions, along with the development of new ones. He presented the latest upgrades to the central CEZIH system, which will ensure the integration of emergency services and emergency hospital admissions, as well as private healthcare institutions. These upgrades, while maintaining the highest level of security, will enable healthcare professionals to more easily authorize and digitally sign documents, simplifying hospital operations and significantly enhancing ergonomics.

In interaction with the audience, ways of using the existing eHealth Record solution and its potential upgrades were discussed to further integrate it with existing hospital systems, including the Hospital Information System by Ericsson Nikola Tesla (ENT HIS). Congress attendees also received a brochure about ENT HIS (Cro).
Participants from Ericsson Nikola Tesla established productive interactions with other congress attendees during the event.
