Gordana Kovačević at the Change Makers conference: Leadership that drives change

At the Change Makers conference of the magazine Poslovni dnevnik, in a conversation titled “Innovation and sustainable growth management: C-level experiences” between Gordana Kovačević, President of ENT Management Board, and Mladen Miletić, Editor-in-Chief of Poslovni dnevnik, Mrs. Kovačević shared her experiences on the importance of inspirational leadership that empowers teams and encourages innovation.
She emphasized the necessity of continuous learning, openness to new ideas, working on oneself, building organizational resilience, authenticity and acting with integrity.
“When I came to head the company, we had 1,094 employees, of which 408 were experts in the R&D center, mostly SW designers who worked on the technologies of that time. Today we are close to 3,000 employees, of which more than 1,800 are SW designers working on state-of-the-art technologies. The increase in the number of employees shows that the decisions were right and that the market recognized the value we create. We are the largest company in the ICT industry in Croatia and the region with the largest R&D center and have globally recognized strong professional capacities for high-value solutions and services. We developed strongly in new business areas and realized numerous digital transformation projects.
In a time of rapid technological changes, it was necessary to continuously invest and adopt new knowledge, skills and approaches, from technological to organizational changes as well as changes in the way of management. Leadership required perseverance, emotional intelligence, and the ability to connect reason with the heart. The changes were substantial and continuous, and they were not only a challenge, but also an opportunity for growth, both personal and organizational,” emphasized Gordana Kovačević.
“I am proud that during almost 21 years at the helm of the company and other important responsibilities I had before that, I have, with my associates, built an organization that is strong, responsible, innovative and future-proof, with people at the center of everything we do,” concluded Gordana Kovačević.
