May 7, 2025

Fifty students from the Faculty of Geodesy, University of Zagreb visited Ericsson Nikola Tesla where they had the opportunity to learn about the latest solutions in the field of geoinformation systems and digital transformation.

The visit began with introductory remarks and a presentation of the company. Students learned more about Ericsson Nikola Tesla and our role in the development of advanced technological solutions for cadastral and land registry systems.

This was followed by presentations of specific tools and solutions that we develop, such as: OSS browser, building register browser in 3D format, data analysis from LIDAR surveys, infrastructure cadaster, WEBGIS platform and JIS editor. All these tools are applied in various sectors, ranging from tourism and local government to agriculture.

Students also got an insight into what the job of a geoinformatics specialist at ENT looks like. Ivana and Ivo presented specific tasks and projects they are working on.

Such visits further confirm the importance of connecting the academic community with the industry and provide students with better insight into the practical applications of the knowledge they acquire at the faculty.
