FER students visit ENT

January 27, 2025

Last week, two groups from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) in Zagreb visited the ENT office in Zagreb. The first group were students from the course titled Advanced Architectures of Telecommunication Networks, while the second group was from the course titled Embedded System Design, abbreviated as ESD. Both groups are currently in the first year of their graduate study programme Computing. The first group has several sub-programmes, while the second group is part of the Computer Engineering programme.

For students from the Advanced Architectures of Telecommunication Networks course, Tomislav Grgić (from Customer Solutions and Services) explained how modern 5G networks (which they learned about in the course) work in practice, after which he showed them our well-equipped 5G laboratory where our experts demonstrated practical examples of how private 5G networks function.

ESD students, on the other hand, had a slightly different itinerary. In the pleasant atmosphere of the R&D Radio Department in building 10, they were hosted by a team of our colleagues and top experts, specialists from various separate areas that the Radio Department works with. Judging by the questions, the students were already very familiar with the work presented to them, and after the presentation and a short discussion, they curiously headed to our radio equipment laboratory. There they had the opportunity to hear some more theory but also see live examples of signal measurements on radio equipment.
