At Mobile World Congress 2025, Stefan Kötz, Head of Mission Critical Networks and Strategic Projects in Ericsson’s Market Area Europe and Latin America and Chairperson of the ENT Supervisory Board, gave a statement to the ICTbusiness portal.

Among other things, he addressed key parts of Ericsson’s offering at MWC 2025; all-encompassing 5G, advanced 5.5G on the road towards 6G, and APIs that enable the use of networks in a broader sense, making network functionalities accessible to consumers and enterprises. Kötz emphasized the importance of network monetization because operators are also looking for new sources of revenue, as well as artificial intelligence that enables greater efficiency and innovation. He also spoke about the mission critical telecommunications infrastructure that is of vital importance for the functioning of modern society and economy, and in which Ericsson has a strong offer and brings a number of benefits to the segments of public safety, railway infrastructure, utility industry and defense. He also mentioned non-terrestrial networks and their connection to terrestrial networks. He pointed out that Ericsson’s 5G solutions, in addition to reliability, also offer more options, security and stability.
