Ericsson Nikola Tesla Technology Days: Sustainable and competitive future enabled by technology

June 3, 2025

ENT Technology Days, an annual event presenting advanced technologies and solutions from the Ericsson and Ericsson Nikola Tesla portfolio, started this week.

The event brings together numerous customers, partners and key ecosystem stakeholders and therefore provides a platform for the exchange of ideas and concrete solutions that can improve the competitiveness of the Croatian economy and science, ensure long-term sustainability and contribute to a higher quality of life for citizens. Through collaboration, knowledge exchange, and a vision of technological progress, the event further confirms Ericsson Nikola Tesla’s role as a leader in digital transformation in the region.

The President of the Management Board of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, Gordana Kovačević, stated on the occasion of the opening of this year’s ENT Technology Days: “During Technology Days, we strive to show how advanced technologies can become a powerful tool for the sustainable development of industry and society. For us, this event is not just a presentation of technological solutions, but an opportunity to think about the future together with our customers, partners and other stakeholders – one that is more competitive, sustainable and of higher quality for all of us. We are proud that we are actively contributing to the development of the local innovation ecosystem with our Technology Days. I would especially like to emphasize the contribution of our experts who are dedicated to the development and implementation of solutions that go beyond local frameworks and shape the global technological scene. We believe that strength lies in cooperation and that is why it is extremely important for us to bring together stakeholders from different sectors and encourage dialogue, exchange of knowledge and ideas. Only through joint efforts can we create a resilient and smart future in which technology serves humanity and society as a whole.”

This year, the event takes place in the week of 2 June and the week of 30 June, and ENT is showcasing the latest equipment for more advanced and efficient 5G and solutions for monetizing 5G networks with examples of new services based on this generation of mobile networks. Different scenarios regarding the use of 5G networks and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) are presented to improve network performance and user experience, as well as the possibility of differentiating the offer of communication services using network APIs for a certain type of subscription or for certain applications on demand, which encourages innovation and opens new opportunities for offering superior services. You can also see the application of 5G technologies for mission critical network communications for emergency services, public safety and defense. The construction of Future Railway Mobile Communications System (FRMCS) improves the user experience of train passengers thanks to Gigabit speeds that enable work and entertainment on the train. The benefits of implementing and using private networks are presented through the lens of the most relevant use cases for the industry with reference examples.

Data from telecom networks is valuable for the development of many industrial verticals, and this year we are presenting the application of its use in transport for strategic decision-making and planning of infrastructure interventions based on anonymized analysis of spatial and temporal migrations. During this process, data from the telecommunications network is used as virtual road traffic counters and as input data for relevant digital tools.

In addition to the application of technology in telecommunications and various industries, scientific research work is presented on the example of the EU co-funded project Digiphy which shows XR communication and interaction through a dynamically refreshed digital twin of a smart space.

There are also interactive demonstrations of extended reality (XR), AI and Digital Twin technologies on demos developed at ENT.
