ENT Summer Camp 2025 – innovations by new generations

- The 24th edition of ENT Summer Camp, Ericsson Nikola Tesla’s summer workshop, an excellent platform for cooperation between the academia and the economy, was concluded with a ceremony that brought together participants from all locations (Zagreb, Split, Osijek).
- This year, 43 students from Croatia and abroad, led by experienced mentors from Ericsson Nikola Tesla, worked on 15 innovative projects during the 5-week ENT Summer Camp using state-of-the-art technologies such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality, Big Data and many others.
Held on 12 September at the headquarters of Ericsson Nikola Tesla in Zagreb, the 24th edition of ENT Summer Camp ended with a ceremony celebrating the achievements of the participants.
With this project, initiated in 2001 in cooperation with the Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER), Ericsson Nikola Tesla brings together faculties from Croatia and abroad around a common goal: educating future top ICT experts by giving students the opportunity to try their hand at a real industrial environment. The motto of this year’s camp, Bright Minds for a Brighter Future, reflects the commitment of Ericsson Nikola Tesla to the formation of future experts and the creation of innovations. During the five weeks of this workshop, senior students applied their software development knowledge and skills to solve the challenges of modern industry and society with the help of cutting-edge technologies such as AI, XR, Big Data, and many others.
Andrej Grgurić, Director of Research at ENT, Head of Summer Camp, welcomed the attendees and emphasized that the ENT Summer Camp is the company’s strategic platform for talent development in cooperation with the academic community.
Speaking about the synergy between the economy and the academia represented by ENT Summer Camp, Gordana Kovačević, MSc, President of the Ericsson Nikola Tesla Management Board, said: “For Ericsson Nikola Tesla, cooperation with the academic community is not an occasional initiative, but an integral part of our identity by which we contribute to raising the quality of education. More than a thousand students participated in our Summer Camp, and many of them are today our colleagues, experts and leaders working on the development of the latest ICT solutions.” When addressing students as a generation that will create solutions for a more sustainable, smarter and connected future, she said: “It is up to you to dictate trends, create new values, and use technology for the benefit of society, and it is up to us, your mentors and partners, to support you on this journey, share knowledge and experience, and be an example.”
On behalf of the participating faculties of this year’s camp, the attendees were addressed by Prof. Mirko Planinić, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, who encouraged the students to continue changing society with knowledge and develop all their potential. On behalf of the University of Zagreb, the audience was addressed by Tomislav Josip Mlinarić, PhD, Vice-Rector for Innovation, Technology Transfer and Cooperation with Economic Sector, emphasizing that partnerships between the economy and academia such as the ENT Summer Camp improve the curriculum and that their output is competent young people, thereby achieving the University’s mission.
Student satisfaction was monitored regularly throughout the duration of the camp, and its extremely high indicators particularly pleased everyone involved in its implementation.
The event ended with the award of certificates to the faculties and students and with the presentation of awards to the best students.
