ENT Researchers at the International Scientific Conference ISPA 2025
November 7, 2025
At the recently held International Symposium on Image and Signal Processing and Analysis (ISPA) in Coimbra, Portugal, one of the renowned conferences in the field of signal and image processing, researchers from Ericsson Nikola Tesla, Assoc. Prof. Goran Molnar, PhD, and Ante Miloš, PhD, presented their latest scientific paper on advanced methods for the design of pulses for ultra-wideband (UWB) communication systems.
Their paper titled Design of UWB Pulses Based on Spectrum Shaping of Gaussian Derivatives with Maximally Flat Criterion was presented in the field of Communication Signal Processing and underwent four international peer reviews, all of which received excellent evaluations.
This paper continues the research initiated during Ante Miloš’s PhD, for which Assoc. Prof. Goran Molnar, PhD, served as one of the supervisors. The research primarily focuses on the development of spectrally and energy-efficient UWB pulses, and their papers published in recent years have been cited in over ten prestigious scientific journals. In July of this year, their paper from the previous ISPA conference was cited in Aerospace, in an article about unmanned aerial vehicles for the inspection of civil infrastructure.
The conference was also attended by professors from the Department of Electronic Systems and Information Processing of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER): academician Prof. Sven Lončarić, PhD, with his group of young researchers, and Assoc. Prof. Tomislav Petković, PhD. Both professors were part of the organizing committees of the conference.
