At the conference TEN-T Network: Transport Connectivity for a More Competitive Economy, held on 28 April in Zagreb under the auspices of the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, the role of modern technologies and solutions in the development of national transport infrastructure and strengthening economic competitiveness and connectivity at the European level was discussed.

Ericsson Nikola Tesla has various solutions in its portfolio for the digital green transition of various sectors, including transport, which contribute to increasing competitiveness and are based on state-of-the-art technologies, so the conference was attended by the President of the Management Board Gordana Kovačević, MSc, and Hrvoje Benčić, Member of the Management Board and Director of Customer Solutions and Services.
The President of the Management Board of ENT stated on this occasion: “I believe that it has been recognized that Ericsson Nikola Tesla is a leader in the implementation of numerous complex system integration projects for digital transformation in various spheres of life and areas in the Republic of Croatia, including sustainable mobility.” She also emphasized the importance of intelligent transport systems based on the most modern technologies for connecting Croatia with the world and sustainable mobility in key forms of transport such as road and rail, because they enable quality management and optimization of all transport processes at all levels.
The Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T network) opens up opportunities for Croatia for further investments and the use of additional European funds for the development of the Croatian transport system, which can contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of the economy by better utilizing the geographical position of our country in terms of transport.
Krešimir Vidović, expert in intelligent transportation systems at Ericsson Nikola Tesla, participated in the panel More Efficient and Sustainable Transport, where he emphasized that digital technologies are key for more efficient and sustainable transport. He mentioned that a number of projects in the field of intelligent transportation systems are being implemented in Croatia, prompted, among other things, by the obligations to implement the EU ITS Directive. He cited examples of projects in Split, Zagreb, and those at the EU level, such as the NAPCORE project, which deals with the harmonization of National Access Points for traffic data and the eCall system for emergency calls in vehicles. Vidović underlined that new technologies enable the provision of new services and quality decision-making based on real data. He emphasized that it was particularly positive that the need and benefits of using new technologies in this domain were recognized, and that the solutions based on the most modern technologies with which we can compete abroad, and which were created by Ericsson Nikola Tesla, are the result of the work of Croatian experts.
