25th anniversary edition of ENT Summer Camp, a program that develops talent and drives innovation, opened

This year’s program brings together students from technical and STEM disciplines who, over a five-week period at ENT locations in Zagreb, Split and Osijek, work on real-world technological challenges under the mentorship of company experts, using advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality, 5G and big data analytics. In addition to developing technological solutions, students gain practical experience, strengthen teamwork, communication and project management skills, and gain first-hand insight into working within Croatia’s largest high-tech company.

Welcoming participants to the anniversary edition of ENT Summer Camp, Siniša Krajnović, PhD, President of the Management Board of ENT, emphasized that working on real projects, maintaining an openness to learning and cooperation with experienced professionals provide the best environment for developing future engineers.

“Investing in young talent is one of the most valuable investments a technology company can make. We believe that cooperation between academia and industry creates opportunities for the development of new knowledge, innovation and future generations of engineers. I encourage you to remain curious, ask questions, learn from your mentors and from one another and make the most of the opportunity that ENT Summer Camp offers. I am delighted that, once again, we are creating an environment where ideas evolve into concrete solutions that deliver value to society and the economy. I hope that, for many of you, this experience will be the first step toward a successful professional career and that we will meet again in the future as colleagues,” Siniša Krajnović told the students.

Speaking about the value of the program, Andrej Grgurić, PhD, Director of Research and Innovation at Ericsson Nikola Tesla and Head of ENT Summer Camp, highlighted that the program’s greatest strength lies in the combination of top-tier mentorship, hands-on experience and the development of competencies that open the door to professional careers.

“We are especially pleased that this anniversary edition brings together a new generation of young people eager to learn, collaborate and develop innovative solutions. Through their work with mentors, students gain not only technical knowledge but also develop teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills that are essential for a successful career. For many participants, Summer Camp represents the first step in their professional development, while for us it is a confirmation of the importance of long-term investment in talent development and cooperation with the academic community,” emphasized Andrej Grgurić.

Launched in 2001 in cooperation with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing of the University of Zagreb, ENT Summer Camp has, over the past 25 years, evolved into a unique platform for the development of young talent, knowledge transfer and the creation of innovative technological solutions. More than 1,100 students have participated in the program, contributing to the development of 462 projects and many of them have gone on to build successful careers at Ericsson Nikola Tesla and other leading technology companies.

The 25th anniversary edition of ENT Summer Camp once again confirms the importance of long-term investment in young talent, knowledge and collaboration between academia and industry. At a time of rapid technological advancement, programs such as this help develop the experts who will create the technologies of the future while strengthening the innovation potential and competitiveness of the Croatian economy.
