Land Registry and Cadaster One Stop Shop
Through this project, a public portal for the Joint Information System of Land Registry and Cadaster was implemented and the citizens of the Republic of Croatia were put in focus. On this portal, citizens can communicate with a single public authority and complete the process which requires actions of several public authorities, which supports the intention of the European Union to reduce administrative barriers and simplify administrative procedures along with citizens’ and legal entities’ contact with public authorities.
More than 2.5 million public documents are issued annually upon visits to the competent court or cadaster, and with the establishment of JIS, public documents can be obtained in digital form with just a few clicks from the comfort of your own home. It is also possible for citizens to submit proposals for registration through notary public offices, which leads to less crowded institutions. This is also a response to the increased number of requests for public documents due to the development of the real estate market. The last significant upgrade was implemented at the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it introduced the functionality of reviewing, confirming and implementing a digital survey, which completely eliminated the use of paper documents in this type of procedure, and significant time and financial savings were made.
