Joint Information System of Land Registry and Cadaster (JIS)
The single market of the European Union ensures the free movement of goods, services, capital and people. The free movement of capital enables trade and the growth of companies, favors the mobility of workers and starting businesses, which is of interest to all EU citizens. Real estate transactions are also included in the freedom of movement of capital. An efficient and safe real estate market is the basis of a market economy and contributes to increasing legal certainty, speeding up the flow of capital and investment processes.
The goal of this project was to build an efficient land administration system in order to contribute to the development of an efficient real estate market.
The Croatian model of registration of real estate and related rights is not institutionally unified, so the connection of cadastral and land data was achieved through the implementation of the Joint Information System of Land Registry and Cadaster (JIS). Therefore, JIS became a unique Croatian solution for connecting institutions at the level of data and business processes, which makes it a unique IT project in Croatia.
The mission of this solution is to support:
- matching registration of real estate in the cadastral and land registry systems
- legal security of real estate transactions
- alignment of cadastral and land registry data
- faster and better service.
