EHE HIE

EHE HIE provides a secure, standards‑driven digital backbone for hospital, regional, national, and EU cross‑border health data exchange.

Highlights

EHE HIE is a national/regional interoperability backbone enabling a secure, standards-driven exchange of health information across organizations and borders.

Designed for hospital, regional, national and multinational exchange, including EU cross border services.

A FHIR‑native HIE platform built on IHE‑based workflows (IHE MHD, IHE PDQm, IHEmCSD, IHE QEDm …) to seamlessly meet EHDS and EEHRxF interoperability requirement.

Provides governance-grade services: document lifecycle, registries, audit (ATNA), terminology, identity.

Lightweight compared to legacy HIE platforms, optimized for rapid deployment and tender compliance.

Ideal for:

  • National authorities implementing interoperability infrastructure
  • Fast-tracking modernization in fragmented markets
  • EU accession markets leapfrogging to EU standard health data exchange

Core included products:

  • EHE Document Registry and Repository
  • EHE Medical Records Database
  • EHE Person and Patient Register
  • EHE Health Entities Register
  • EHE FHIR Repository
  • EHE Terminology Services
  • EHE Infrastructure

Use Cases

Cross-Institution Document Exchange (Hospital ↔ Hospital)

Enables secure exchange of discharge summaries, imaging reports, lab results, referrals, and other clinical documents between hospitals using HL7 FHIR + IHE MHD/XDS workflows, therefore removing the need for custom integrations.

Regional Health Information Exchange

Supports integrated workflows across regional hospital networks, primary care, specialist clinics, labs, and diagnostic centers. Reduces data silos, avoids duplication of tests, and improves coordination of care across heterogeneous systems.

National Interoperability Platform

Provides the national backbone for structured and secure data exchange across all healthcare providers, enabling unified registries, standard-based document exchange, terminology services, and national identity frameworks.

EU Cross-Border Patient Summary & ePrescription Exchange

Enables participation in MyHealth@EU, supporting exchange of EU Patient Summary (EPS) and ePrescription/eDispensation aligned with EU regulations and EHDS obligations.

Integration of Private and Public Healthcare Providers

Allows onboarding of private clinics, labs, imaging centers, and pharmacies into national or regional digital health ecosystems through standardized APIs without requiring replacement of existing systems.

Unified Diagnostic Data Pipeline (Laboratories & Imaging Centers)

Standardizes transmission of lab results, imaging reports, and DICOM-based data into national/regional repositories to support a consistent, shareable patient record.

National Preventive & Screening Programs

Supplies the data exchange layer required for programs like cancer screening, chronic disease management, and prevention workflows, ensuring structured data collection and automated reporting.

Real Time Tracking of Clinical Document Lifecycles

Supports full lifecycle management (submission, availability, updates, archiving) of documents, improving auditability, traceability, and governance in large-scale health systems.

Real Time Tracking of Clinical Document Lifecycles

Supports full lifecycle management (submission, availability, updates, archiving) of documents, improving auditability, traceability, and governance in large-scale health systems.

Enabling AI, Analytics & Research Through Standardized Data

Provides high quality, structured clinical data (via FHIR and IHE) that can be reused for anonymized datasets, research initiatives, and population health analytics.
